Sisopekinam: Medicines Lead Us Forward

S/he continues to rise

Earth measurements / Relationships

Ayimach_Horizon places focus on color blocking and geo-metering, punctuating our relationship between place and time. Triangulations in the garments point to energy sources and our reciprocal relationship to them.

We all are accountable

ᐊᔨᒪ / Ayimach is a remix of cultural references and projects into spaces of Indigenous Futurisms as materials and pallets share a platform with traditional custom and aspirational visions of transformation. ᐊᔨᒪ / Ayimach translates from Nēhiyawēwin or Cree to "a fortunate change of events leading towards success."

Summer Fosters New Growth

Sisopekinam is a complex portrayal of the South, Summer, and the elemental forces of Earth/Metal. Handmade botanical prints inspired by the Indigenous plants of the prairies activate the garment's surface and inform the silhouette, while metallic accents cut an edge of severity. Sisopekinam comes alive with the dynamic presence of horsehair, infusing it with movement and vitality.

Harmony is elemental.

His Ayimach collection, which in the Algonquian language of Cree means, "a fortunate change of events leading toward success,” is inspired by the energy of his Northern Saskatchewan Cree land and the resilience of his heritage.
